What is Active Acne?

Acne vulgaris is the medical name for common acne — the presence of blackheads, whiteheads, and other types of pimples on the skin. The most common spots for breakouts are the face, chest, shoulders, and back. Although mild acne may improve with over-the-counter treatments, more severe forms should be treated by a clinical expert.

Treatments such as chemical peels can address the outer layer of the skin. IPL acne treatment, microbotox, which can help with oil production and enlarged pores and signature facial treatments which are completely customized.

For deeper acne or cystic acne, a customized skincare routine will be recommended, our clinic only recommends and uses pharmaceutical and medical grade skincare to help penetrate the skin on a deeper level to address more severe skin conditions like cystic acne. With cystic acne we like to take a 2 step approach, first treating and improving the breakouts with a customized skincare routine which is closely monitored, second step is to evaluate the progress and once the acne is controlled we introduce the appropriate clinical treatments to help improve the acne scars, pigmentation and textural issues that may come with active acne.

With any clinical treatment received a detailed take home skincare routine will be recommended by a clinical expert to ensure the best possible results.
